The burgeoning understanding of the importance of health and wellbeing in the workplace is not being matched by joined-up long term initiatives that will drive individual and business sustainability. This article:

–  from the CIPD and Professor Cary Cooper (word renowned expert on workplace stress and organisational health) is a ‘must-read’ for any organisation looking to build their case for investing in wellbeing and/or for those who are committed but unsure about where or how to start.  The key advice is for organisations to implement a holistic approach to health and wellbeing that is preventative and proactive, and to respond quickly to offer support when issues emerge, with an emphasis on promoting good physical health, good mental health and ‘good work’, especially among managers because of their pivotal role in shaping others’ wellbeing at work.
